Calf Creek

So we finally made it to Calf Creek so we could begin our hike. It was cool when we first arrived and once the sun came out we were all sweaty! The kids did pretty good. It was a two hour hike in and a two hour hike out. So I'm very proud of the little ones. (although if you are two adults hiking it, plan on half the time)

Here we are starting the hike, everything is still dead, but hey it's a great time to go, because it only gets hotter outside! Although if you wait, it may be greener.

This last picture is called "Hogs Back" It was very scary. There is cliffs on both sides as you are driving down a windy highway. This picture doesn't seem bad at all, but it was scary when you're flying down it in a car, and you're not in control.

A little road trip

After our stay in St George, some of us continued on a little trip out by Escalante. We decided it would be fun to go on a hike to Calf Creek, and so we stayed in a little hotel out in Cannonville. On our drive to our hotel we made a few stops.

We decided to visit the St. George temple before we left.

Then we met up in Cedar City at a really cool park for lunch.The kids drove us all over the world in this little car.

What great imaginations, and a nice place to sit in the shade.

Then we made a stop in Bryce Canyon to see Fairyland Canyon

AKA = a free stop to see the Canyon before you have to pay them money.

Poor Ethan was a little scared at first (totally suprised me with this fearless kid) I think he thought he was going to fall down that cliff. Even though he had 10 feet to cross first. Maybe it was just the worried parents trying to scare the kids so they would stay away from the edge.

The River Home!

For Spring Break my family decided to go in on renting out a home. We went down to St. George and just relaxed. It was so much fun! Hopefully we will do something like this again. It was a big home with lots to do inside. A movie room, air hockey, ping pong, sand volleyball, swimming and more. My favorite was getting the kids in bed so the adults can stay up play games, laugh, and swim til the early morning hours.

This was one of Devyn's favorite parts. The "girl cousin" room. She loved sharing a room with all of her cousins.

One day I let the girls what ghostbusters. Then everyone was mad at me because the girls were scared and couldn't sleep. I went in and checked on them and this is what I founds. Some of the girls had got in other girls beds, so they wouldn't be scared. I thought it was funny, how do you sleep like that?

Here is one of my favorite parts, swimming was more fun that I thought it was going to be. By the way, I'm pretty good and underwater handstands, kinda. I can beat out everyone (but Alice) on staying under the longest.
The indoor pool. The first day is was a little too cool / windy to go in the outside pool. The nice thing is the pools both had very nice covers. Very sturdy you could walk on them. It helped me have a little peace, I wasn't as worried about kids getting in and drowning.

This is a fun crack in the cliffs that is fun to wiggle through. Most of the way my back was on one side of the rock and my stomach on the other, it is pretty tight. Kinda fun and scary.

Fishin!

So a few weeks we all went fishing. I messed around with some of the pictures. I like the contrast and the bright colors. Nothing fancy, just having fun.

The kids woke up to their own soccer balls.

Then they went out back to find eggs and found a soccer field spray painted on the lawn. So after a fun filled day, We had a little soccer game.

Ethan came out the richest.
And Ethan was showing off his findings, Devyn was very jealous.

Easter Egg Hunt at Grandma Strongs. Alice was keeping them contained until it was time. Can you sense any excitement. Grandma Strong always fills the kids full of candy.
