Grandpa's Sticks

I love this time of year! The weather is so nice it's just wonderful! I'm sure you will see an increase of posts on my blog because I love taking pictures outside. Today Grandpa Myron held a Pick up Sticks Party for the kids. Isn't he a cute Grandpa! We went over to his house and picked up all the sticks/branches because he had just pruned all his trees. The kids had fun making piles. We got the tractor going and piled it full of sticks and then rode on the bed of the tractor once we unloaded them. The kids thought it was so much fun!

I told Devyn to look over at me and she said "I can't it's too bright" I just think this picture is SO funny! She couldn't open her eyes.

Grandpa's just waiting for a burn day to burn the HUGE piles that he has. But for now, we made a little pile to burn and we roasted some hot dogs for dinner. The kids had fun, and hopefully we have created some wonderful memories for them to talk about in the future.

Kevin Bacon Says Hi!

I just wanted to share this video because I thought it was cool. Kevin Bacon was the star in the movie footloose, and it was filmed mostly in Payson, and at Payson High School, (where I attended) It was 25 years ago that the movie was made. Payson High invited him to come and visit, but he sent this personal video instead.

I don't know what is wrong with my video but I'll leave it posted anyways. Kevin is in Slow Mo but not the sound. Anyway, I'll try and figure it out later. Here you go anyway.

Kindergarten SHOTS!

I wouldn't normally take pictures of my kids getting their kindergarten shots, but I thought it was cute that Jacob got his shots with his cousin Sydnie. They were both so scared but when we told them they could get them done together they were really excited! So we thought it would make it more fun. After their appointment we went out to Wingers for lunch and Asphalt Pie (Sydnies request) and then to Cal Ranch to look at toys (Jacobs request) and he bought a shovel, Syndie got a rake. They were so excited.

Here are a few pictures of them together. They go to the same doctor now and they have Kindergarten Days. They make a bigger deal out of it. So it makes it nice. They get a picture taken with their doctor and they get a free T-shirt. They make it fun, it makes it a better experience for them.

The doctor was doing his little exam making sure that their arms moved correctly and that they had balance and all that. Then he told Sydnie to blow out her cheeks. (He was going to pop them, but she didn't know that) It was funny, she would not participate, but after that, the kids kept popping their cheeks.
I only took pictures while we were in the room by ourselves waiting. I should have got a picture of both of them after the shots. They both had tears. And Jacob and I left the room for Sydnie to get shots, she started yelling his name for him to come and save her. So he ran in and held her hand with one hand and covered his ear with the other. It was pretty funny.

Willy Wonka

I know, there have been many posts about they play. They have performed for two weeks and this is the last week now. It is a very cute play, Chad and Tina have done an awesome job directing this. All the characters play their part well, and it's amazing with how young some of these kids are. Devyn has loved being a part of it.

Basement Wall

We've been doing a little finishing work on our basement. And we needed to tear down this wall so we can work on it some more. The kids have been good with helping out, and this was their favorite part so far. Tearing down the wall.

The wall is gone! Yay! A bit exciting for us!

Family Night Fishing

Last Monday Night we took the kids fishing to Salem Pond. They love to go so we thought that Monday would be a good night. The kids had a lot of fun, but the fishing was poor. As we were walking back to the car to leave Jacob caught a little fish, which was released back to the pond.
