HOGLE ZOO

On Ethans actual birthday we made it to the Zoo. He has been begging to go there for months. So we thought we better take him there for his birthday.
~
Of course we rode the train. One of Ethans favorite things is trains.
And a picture of a big fat pregnant lady.
(I debated on whether I should post it)
You can't even see the belly but you can tell I'm a little bigger all over.
Sitting on the elephant trunk
Doesn't everyone have a picture here?

Devyn

My little girl is growing up too fast.

Have you met Zuri?
The cutest baby elephant.
It was fun to watch her eat and play
She is a cute little elephant

It was a fun day, and the nice thing was there was hardly anyone there. It's been almost two years since we've been to the zoo so it was a good time to go.

Ethans Birthday Party!

For Ethans Birthday we invited all the grandparents over to wish him a good one. He was so excited to have them come over. He first wanted to show everyone his new bike that he got.

He also got a license plate to put on his bike

(Now all the strangers will know his name)

Here he is checking out his new tool bag
(his old one just broke)
Ethan is quite the fixin man.
He had been wanting to eat this cake ALL DAY long!
I got it all baked up and saved everything for the boys to decorate
as soon as Dad got home from work, they fixed up the diggin cake.
I think they did an excellent job!

Happy #4 Ethan
You're such a fun little guy!

Soccer

We just got done with Futsal for the kids. Last spring they had soccer outdoors and all the games were practically rained out. So this was a nice change. The bad thing is it's harder to get good pictures indoors.

Jacob #3

I liked this picture because you can see the sweat on his face
Devyn, not quite as agressive as Jacob, but she still did great.

They both had great coaches who taught them a lot through the season.
They also had a great time!

Grandpa's Haircut

So my dad thought he would let the girls create some memories cutting his hair. I just told him I wasn't going to fix it after. . . it was my day off. They had a lot of fun cutting and Devyn showed the girls how to do it, because she is just a natural I guess. It seems like all who wanted a turn got one.

In the end, I think they did a pretty good job.

Devyn was really proud of herself. Nice shelf, dad. That is pretty short up to the middle of your ears.
But is a pretty straight line for a bunch of 8 year olds.

Potluck

Just a few pictures of our April Potluck with the Strong Family. We celebrated a bunch of birthdays, Ethans included. Also we had a fun little Easter egg hunt in the yard.
For some reason I can never get Jacob to look at ME when I'm taking a picture.
My mom and cute little Letley.

Ethans buzz . . . almost

Ethan has been begging for a buzz for a long time. I kept putting it off because I didn't want to do it. I didn't want to buzz my little boys hair. But I finally decided to do it.

Then after we got going he wanted me to STOP!

Grandma's Birthday

So Dan's mom turned another year older. We had them over for a nice dinner and yummy cake. Unfortunetly everyone wasn't able to make it, but it was still fun.

Look at all those candles!

A day at Grandpa Myrons

Saturday we spent the day helping Grandpa Myron pick up all his branches and burning them.
Devyn holding cousin MacKenzie
Here is Grandpa Myron, isn't he cute.
I told him to go sit down and take a rest, but he just sat right where he was.
He probably would have loved the help a week or two earlier.  We had been working on getting our basement to a certain part.  If we had gone over earlier maybe the field wouldn't be burned down.  He is 90 years old and still does just about everything!
But look what they almost threw in the fire!  Grandpa's old screen door.  I had Jacob pull it out for me.  It will be a beauty in my house.  Just wait and see, can you believe they almost burned that?  They called it junk.
Once we got the fire lit, we got out the wienies, and had a little roast for lunch.
Of course the boys had a blast with the fire.  And that thing was HOT!  So it was good that no one wanted to get too close.  Until most of it had burned down.
The big reward for doing all the work was the kids got to steer the tractor.
I think the kids had a good time after all.
Hopefully they will remember these times with Grandpa Myron.
