Shootin Time

Jacob did a little shooting at the carnival and still wanted more.  So Dan took the boys out for a little practice and a little fun.
He was pleased when he looked at his target
And isn't this little boy the cutest?

Goin to the Carni

So I couldn't believe it, the carnival came to our small little town!
There were pretty much no lines ever.  And most every time my kids were the only ones on the ride . . . do you think they will ever come back to my little town?
~
Devyn and Jacob took a ride on this thing
Devyn thought it was fun - can you tell what Jacob thought?
Ethan loved the rocket  -  except the first rocket he got in was broken, it didn't go up and down like it was supposed to, so he got a second ride  -  for free.
(ya I guess I know how to work the system)
Ethan like the big strawberry
And the boat worker kept splashing the kids - so they got him back
Jacob wasn't a big one for the rides he just wanted to shoot the gun
(FYI - he did not win that BIG stuffed lion he wanted)

First Day of School

Where does the time go?  Caleb was born the night of Jacob's Kindergarten Graduation.  We had a FAST summer.  I wasn't ready for them to go back to school until a couple weeks before school started they wouldn't leave each other alone.  That is when I was ready for school to start.
~
Here is Devyn all ready to go
And her teacher Mrs Smith
Jacob was very excited also
Here he is at his teachers door
Come to find out later in the day I actually dropped him off in the wrong class.  I am such a good mom.  We didn't make it to meet the teacher night.  And when I dropped him off she had ran somewhere and I didn't have time to wait since I had a dentist appointment to run to that morning.  It was a crazy morning but he did alright and it all ended up best in the end.

Geode Beds

Right before school started my brother had a fun idea of taking the kids out to the Geode Beds.  Dan wasn't able to go but I piled the kids in the car and out to the desert we went.  We followed each other out and had a fun ride.
-
Here we stopped to look around at a Pony Express stop out by Simpson Springs
We enjoyed lots of dirt road (even cracked my windshield)
When we saw this sign . . . . finally
I got Caleb in the stroller so I could try and find me some good rocks
He was thrilled
The kids had their buckets full in a matter of minutes
I wasn't exactly sure what I was looking for, but when I found one that looked like something I thought I was looking for I grabbed the hammer to give it a wack . . . . and it WAS a Geode
It was shimmery in the sun, but you can't tell in this photo
Everyone thought I was dumb for wacking at one that was not broken
Even Caleb couldn't believe it
Jacob & Penina
Britney made herself some shade and took a little break
Edris and her kiddos
Kallysta & Devyn
Jason worked hard looking for some good ones . . . . diggin the hills away
The shade that I could provide for Jacob
It was a fun day out in the desert . . . a quick last minute trip that was rather enjoyed
I can't wait to saw open my other Geodes I found to see what is inside

Welcome Home!

On August 12th we were all so excited to Welcome Home Uncle Matt!
He had been in Maceio, Brasil for 2 years!
All the kids were up on shoulders holding their signs waiting to see him

Can you see the excitement in Devyn's face?
Here he is!
Meeting his Nephew Caleb for the first time
All the kids
I love this picture of Matthew leaving the airport with his arm around Grandpa Myron.
Grandma Georgia getting love from the little guy
We are all so happy to have Matt home!
