Caleb's New Friend

All my kids are attatched to a certain stuffed animal that they had when they were little.  They STILL sleep with them, every single on of them.  Well, we felt bad for Caleb being the only one without one.  So we searched long and hard and this is what we found . . . . an ugly doll.
Doesn't he look happy?
We love this kid, and I had to show off his crooked smile

Green Eggs & Ham

So I have a picky boy, so very picky!
After Calebs blessing we had lots of leftovers.  We had pulled pork sandwiches and Ethan just wouldn't eat one or even give it a try.  I know he's had them before but for some reason he had forgot that he like them.  So we FINALLY got him to give it a try and he LOVED it!  We asked him if he would in them on a train or on a plane.  Would he eat them in a box, would he eat them with a fox?  He said No but he has been begging for me to make him green eggs & ham since.
~
So finally I made him his green eggs and ham!
Did he eat them?   NO!

Strong Family Parade

Every 24th my parents neighborhood have a big block party.
Everyone comes and bring a little something to share and we all bring our fireworks so all can see.  Every year my family parades in and throws candy.  The kids absolutely love it and I actually get a little embarrased about the whole thing, but can we stop now?  Half of the family couldn't make it this year so it was tempting to skip out on it, but I'm glad we went.
~
I did a little face painting on the kids
Silly Faces
Tyree
Kallysta
Devyn
Penina
Jacob
Andrew
Ethan
and cute Letley
Caleb was even being festive
This year they were pulled in the boat instead of the tiny trailer
Edris & I passed out balloons

The kids look forward to the yummy free food like snowcones
Dan enjoys the mexican treats - what are these anyway?
Ethan loved the cotton candy even in all the smoke
It was a fun time catching up with friends that I grew up with that I only see this time every year.

Swim Lessons

The kids loved their swim lessons this year

They especially love their free time which they hardly got
Here is Devyn going down the slide
Yes . . . . she already has attitude, should I take those sunglasses away?
Jacob has really nice form
He also loved freetime, and had so much fun jumping off the diving board on the last day.  Although he can swim I'm so glad there is someone IN the water to help them out when they are exhausted.

Day at the park

So we went to a new park here in town.
The kids were having fun running around with their friends.
And somehow they found a couple of these
There were three of them that had fallen in a drain but one was dead so they rescued the other two.
This is Devyn's friend Ashley - do you think that duck is feeling rescued?
They got passed around and chased around rescued
But now the animal rescue came and got them, what do you think they did with them?
Anyway the kids had a great time, and made some good memories, I hope those ducks are still alive

RIP Blackshot

I wish I had more pictures of the best bunny ever!
I have more pictures of his posterity than of the man himself.
~
Saturday morning we were all gone.  The boys were out fishing and Devyn and I were at a wedding shower in Salt Lake.  When the boys got home that afternoon Blackshot wasn't acting well.  Jacob held him for about five minutes when he ended up dying.  It was a sad day.
(This picture is about a year old)
Jacob called my cell to let me know what had happened.  I cried, it hurt me to hear his little broken heart.  Blackshot was a bunny who would let the kids drag him around and he wouldn't scratch the crap out of ya like most rabbits do.
~
One of Devyn's cousin over heard me telling me mom what had happened but they heard it a little differently.  They heard that Jack Black had died.  Devyn came up the stairs to tell me that she heard Jack Black died, she didn't seem to upset about it (I thought she said Blackshot) so I just told her "When Jacob got home from fishing they found him and he died soon after"  Devyn started SCREAMING!
~
I immediately took her outside to talk to her and calm her down.  She was bawling for Jacob.  I thought she felt so bad for him since she knew how much he loved that rabbit.  Then after a few minutes I got this feeling she misunderstood me.  So I asked her again "Devyn - who died?"  She replied "Jacob"  That is when tears ran down my face I felt so bad that for a couple minutes she thought that her brother had died.  It was a bad day and I ended up with a big headache.  I reassured her that her brother was okay and that it was fortunetly only that rabbit that we all loved.
~
Once we got home we took him out to the field and found a good final resting place for him.  The kids found a few wild flowers and a few cherries to place on his grave.
I had to take a picture of Jacob, it was a sad day.  Right after we burried him Jacob said "Dad, I think we need to say a prayer"  So Jacob offered a little prayer about when Jesus comes again that Blackshot will come alive so that we can be with him again.  I loved hearing his little testimony.  And I felt so bad watching his broken little heart.  After Jacob's little prayer it started raining, we all stared at the grave and said our goodbyes to our favorite rabbit ever!
~
The next day Jacob made a display of him by Blacksots grave out of Jenga
You know he can't stop thinking about him
Rest in Peace Blackshot
You will be missed!
~
The good news is Jack Black is still alive

Gooseberry

he boys got up VERY early to head to Gooseberry to be some of the first people to fish there this season.  Most of the boys in my family went to enjoy a good day of fishing and they had a good time.

FiRe!

It's about time!
So we finally went and bought the stuff to make us a firepit
When we did our yard we built a circular rock bench to put a firepit in but we never got around to it.  Well we now have it, and it's been fun.  The kids have asked me like everyday this summer when we were going to get it and that night that we put it in we had a little fire to roast wienies & smores.
~
Just can't wait until it cools down to make a fire to keep us warm
